Passion for career

The May 6 In Depth article Five things you didn’t know about earning a degree in Florida certainly was appropriate for this time of year. I suppose that it was also appropriate that all five things concerned money.

The first paragraph made passing reference to what should be the most important thing about earning a degree: “High school grads heading off to college to chase their passions.” Hopefully the passion includes getting a good education in the field that the student is passionate about.

The financial side is important, but the passion should not take a back seat to it. In the long run, it is far better to earn your living doing something you are passionate about. An occasional article about the intangible values of a good education would be appreciated.
