Park invaded
Re the May 7 story Oil company gets OK to expand oil search in South Florida preserve: The National Park Service should be ashamed to let a Texas oil company into the Big Cypress Preserve to explore for oil. It has taken miles of open trails away from gladesman and their swamp buggies and made them stay on trails that are very limited to our specific use.
Now the Park Service is going to let an oil company just go and explore. Will its workers stay on marked trails, or are they just going to go wherever they want? I guess Big Oil has more money to offer the Park Service than the Gladesman culture. Very sad.
