Marlins suspension

I once heard a fellow lawyer say: “I don't believe anything anyone says until it’s verified.”

I thought that was a cynical view of humanity. The protestations of innocence by Miami Marlins player Dee Gordon and his guilty predecessors tarnishes the credibility of players who are innocent but who cannot dispel the cloud of suspicion that can be created by baseless rumors.

These falsely accused players can thank Gordon and his ilk for foisting upon them the onerous burden to prove a negative.
