Work with Saudis

Politically and practically our relations with Saudi Arabia are important. The Saudis will continue to be the No. 1 oil producer for years to come. We certainly want them on our side.

The role played by Saudi citizens in the 9/11 terrorist attack was significant. Many were from well-to-do families. Some had contacts with Saudis living in the United States. We will never prove if they informed the king or not.

As an American, I believe that many people in the government and non-royal families knew what was going on. The fact is, no Saudi approached the U.S. government about the coming attack. This should have been a warning to us as to how many Saudi people feel about us. It isn’t a good feeling. However, we need each other.

The U.S. government should again take a leadership role and work with them to bring stability to the area. If Russia and Iran’s expansion isn’t stopped soon, we are heading to World War III.
