Neighborhood noise
I live in the South Grove in a short lane that used to be quiet. No more. It is now impossible during the day, seven days a week, to have a cup of coffee, read the papers in our yard or tend to the garden in peace.
This most obnoxious and unhealthy noise comes from the leaf blowers going at all hours of the day and the car washing going on every Sunday morning with the compressor on for hours. This is rude, unnatural and unhealthy. Besides the noise, my cars are covered with dust, so obviously what is on my car is in the gardeners’ lungs.
The city should intervene to protect our peace, quality of life and health of the workers.
What about limiting blowers and car washers with compressors to work within set hours during the week and not on weekends or through the entire day? It would be healthier for everybody.
I know there are bigger problems in this world, but these are solvable with a bit of cooperation and common sense.
