Wrong on Rubio

Re Fabiola Santiago’s April 17 column, Latinos, duck! Rubio is back at work: One simple question needs to be asked: Why is the United States asked to treat Cuban and Haitian refugees differently from others? There are plenty of refugees worthy of our largess, but the Cubans and Haitians are the only ones receiving it without question. This is wrong. This creates bad relations with other countries. It needs to be changed.

Marco Rubio is correct to try to change this situation. Just because he is of Cuban descent doesn’t mean that he cannot try to right our nation’s wrongs in regard to Cuba. Just because Santiago is of Cuban descent doesn’t mean that she must not look at this American injustice.

She was way too harsh with Rubio, not to say outright wrong.
