High court costs
Gov. Rick Scott should rename his slogan “Let’s Get to Work” and make it “Let’s Go to Court.” How many millions in taxpayer dollars have been wasted defending and losing his legal cases? This week, it was FPL burying power lines. Last week, he lost to David Di Pietro, former chair of Broward Health’s governing board.
In the past there was Michael Pizzi’s reinstatement, the governor’s private email use, drug testing, overstepping his constitutional authority, violating Florida’s open-meeting law in firing Gerald Bailey and more. Scott’s decisions would be different if all these court costs came out of his own pocket.
