FPL’s solar sham
FPL, the corporation that brought us Turkey Point leaks into Biscayne Bay, has proposed building a new billion-dollar natural gas plant at a time when the world knows we need more renewable energy sources.
Recently, FPL requested rate increases even after making record profits and is now telling us that they need to protect the public from those bad solar companies.
They are doing this by financing a sham solar amendment in November.
Florida is only one of four states where we have to get our energy from the local utility monopoly.
Florida power companies are spending millions trying to keep it that way by putting it into the state constitution. Do not be deceived; the utility-backed sham ‘solar’ amendment will not increase access to affordable solar energy.
Vote no in November on Amendment One.
