Missing Bob Levy

Thank you for your beautiful April 13 obituary for Bob Levy, Longtime lobbyist Bob Levy, 67, leaves legacy of ‘Levites’ in Florida politics.

Bob was, simply put, a lovely man. We had many wonderful interactions from my time on Miami Shores Village council, where he represented our community in Tallahassee.

And he was a long time active member of our Chamber of Commerce, to whom he was most generous.

They do not seem to make them like Levy much anymore. He was always pleasant, professional, and happy. And although he had his personal political views, and they were quite progressive, he was able to sit down and hold a civil, calm conversation with folks who had greatly different opinions.

I will forever remember a dinner that Bob hosted, at which he told all of us to order whatever we liked from the menu.

As the waiter asked me for my selection, and I answered lobster tail, Bob never batted an eye.

He was the ultimate gentleman and a great friend to me and our region, and will be deeply missed.
