Obama and Cuba
The recent visit by President Obama to Cuba showed a president who refuses to highlight the exceptionality of the United States, Western-style democracy and the economic superiority of our free-enterprise system.
Cuba is an economic basket case, not caused by a flimsy American embargo, but by a system that only benefits the Castro brothers and the ruling elite.
This anachronistic system called Cuban communism was described by Obama as having a good healthcare system.
The truth is the average Cuban is subjected to inferior and unsanitary healthcare facilities, while the elites utilize the few well-run hospitals.
Obama had an excellent opportunity to champion Western democracy, free enterprise and our healthcare system but, as usual, failed to do so while in Cuba.
Can anyone imagine President Obama, Bernie Sanders or Hillary Clinton praising American values and verbally confronting the Soviet Union to tear down the Berlin wall, which President Reagan did in 1987?
I doubt it.
