Are the French friend or foe?

Did all those Republicans blasting President Obama for not attending the solidarity rally in France forget that they were the same ones who, after 9/11, jumped on bandwagon to change the name French fries to Freedom fries because the French did not participate in the illegitimate war in Iraq?
