I love Walmart

The largest single-day, private-sector pay increase ever took place this month as more than 1.2 million Walmart and Sam’s Club associates in the United States received raises, including more than 93,000 people in Florida.

This pay increase will be a big help to my growing family, as my wife and I just welcomed a new baby into our lives. However, Walmart’s investments in its people go far beyond wages.

As a Walmart associate, I have access to skills training, healthcare benefits and career advancement opportunities.

Most of all, I and my colleagues at the Flagami Neighborhood Market have built a family. When one of us falls on hard times or encounters a personal emergency, our team members are always ready and willing to lend a hand.

Walmart may be the world’s largest retailer, but its stores are communities unto themselves.

Angel Chow, produce manager, Flagami Walmart Neighborhood Market,

Miami
