Miami should have own orchestra
I am saddened that Miami doesn’t have a symphonic orchestra of its own. Most major cities in this country have their own symphony orchestras and do not have to import one.
Wouldn’t it make sense to invest in and build up our own orchestra? Doing so would provide employment for the fine musicians that live here as well as bring others here to live.
Having our own orchestra would also greatly enhance Miami’s reputation as a cultural haven.
Let’s follow the example of the Miami City Ballet, which, besides performing here, also tours the world bringing prestige and honor to our area.
