Judicial nominee

Well, it appears that President Obama has served his constitutional obligation by nominating an extremely qualified appeals court judge, Merrick Garland, to repace Antonin Scalia on the Supreme Court. By all accounts Garland has all the qualifications to be the next Supreme Court justice, subject, of course, to the Senate’s responsibility to “advise and consent.”

But Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell has vowed to block any confirmation hearings, and certainly an up-or-down vote. Sedition is defined as conduct or speech that tends toward insurrection against the established order. Treason is the act of betraying one’s country, so again he is guilty of treason. I think McConnell is guilty of both.
