Helping the disabled

Nature Links serves young adults with intellectual disabilities in the higher range who cannot get into college nor get jobs. They need continuing education and job training after they leave the public school system.

The Frost Museum of Science has been a generous host for our Urban Explorers program, letting us use their garden and wildlife area and their tech room filled with computers as unique educational locations. Thanks to the welcoming atmosphere and the helpful staff, the Frost has been a model partner in supporting our new program benefiting the disability community.

Along with the generous help from the city of Miami and the Congregational Church of Coral Gables, the Frost fully understands the value of institutional partnerships in expanding the educational opportunities for our target population.

Helene Furgang, board member, Nature Links,

Miami
