Double standards

Suddenly, liberals have become constitutionalists. Eighteen months prior to the end of the Bush presidency, then Sens. Joe Biden, Barack Obama and Charles Shumer strongly urged their colleagues not to consider a Supreme Court nominee. To hell with double standards I guess, as they now accuse the Republicans of dereliction of constitutional duty by inaction on an Obama nominee 10 months before the end of this president’s term.

Having obviously read only the CliffsNotes, they seem unaware that the Constitution imposes no time limit for advising and consenting and, in fact, the number of justices is not specified. The Supreme Court has functioned quite well with eight justices, and even seven. I guess what’s good for these uninformed geese is not good for anyone else.
