Fanm Ayisyen Nan Miyami (FANM), Inc. /Haitian Women of Miami is honored to give its inaugural Lifetime Achievement Award to Archbishop Thomas Wenski on Saturday.
A son of immigrants, Archbishop Wenski has a keen understanding of the plight of refugees and immigrants who come to our nation in search of safe haven. He is a staunch advocate for inclusion and immigrants’ rights.
Father Reginald Jean-Mary, the eloquent pastor of the Notre Dame church quotes Archbishop Wenski often: “To serve is not a burden, but a gift.”
That could easily be the motto for all of FANM’s 2016 honorees. They’ve all made tremendous contributions to communities in Miami, and in their homeland. We are proud of their vision, commitment and leadership. FANM salutes the indomitable spirit of Solange Aurelien, Rodney Baltimore, Dr. Michel J. Dodard, Marlon and Carla Hill, Marilyn Rousseau, and North Miami Mayor Joseph Smith.
