Bravo, audience!

I attended the Sunday, Feb. 21 matinee of the Alvin Ailey Dance Company at the Arsht Center.

There were few empty seats and many children.

Those of us who have had unpleasant audience experiences over the years were probably a bit edgy.

But this was the best audience in the many years that I have attended theater.

Complete attention, no talking, no cellphones, no candy-wrapper noises.

Parents should be proud of their kids’ behavior. It probably helped that the stunning dancers kept us riveted.
