Surprise! Surprise! The result of a lengthy Marlins investigation was reported in the Feb. 20 article SEC closes Miami Marlins stadium investigation; charges unlikely. The result of a lengthy investigation: “charges unlikely.” Did anyone really think the Marlins would have to answer for an obviously fraudulent stadium deal?
I guess it was determined that sufficient time had passed for the whole thing to blow over. The story didn’t even make the front page. A welfare applicant who lies about his or her financial condition could expect far different treatment than that afforded these wealthy and well-connected crooks.
