Letters to the Editor

Honorable people

I recently received a phone call from a woman who said that she had found my elderly brother’s wallet and cell phone. She wanted to meet me and return the items.

With trepidation, I suggested that we meet at a safe, convenient spot where I could reclaim the items.

What a pleasure it was to meet this lovely woman. She had recently purchased a pre-owned car and in it were my brother’s items.

In response to my question as to why she had driven quite a distance to meet me, she recalled that she, too, had lost her cell phone, and received a phone call from a thoughtful person who arranged to meet and giver the phone. The least she could do, she said, was to return the gesture.

Thank goodness that there are still thoughtful and honorable people.
