Rubio’s no Obama

Marco Rubio and President Obama share some similarities: In personality and presentation, they are both gifted speakers, flash easy, electric smiles, and project a youthful optimism and energy that inspires hope in all the tomorrows.

But the differences couldn’t be more glaring. Obama has spent his public years working on behalf of others. Marco Rubio has done some spending, too, on other people’s credit cards. Obama has tirelessly fought to raise up disaffected people. Rubio has never stopped raising himself up. Obama seeks solutions to problems and crises against constant obstruction, while Rubio panders to the audience du jour, letting facts slide into twisted half-truths.

The sum total of President Obama? Self-sacrificing. Marco Rubio? Self-serving.
