North Beach charrette
Re the Feb. 3 article City wants North Beach residents to help plan future of neighborhood: The residents of Normandy Shores and all of North Beach are excited to participate in the upcoming city planning charrette.
While there are some who prefer not to see any type of development whatsoever in North Beach, that isn’t the view of the entire community.
There are neighbors who understand that there needs to be progress and an improved quality of life for current and future residents, especially in areas that have been inactive and derelict. Town Center should be a vibrant and walkable hub for the community. Additional residential and office options should bring new life to parts of the neighborhood. Iconic North Beach buildings should be preserved.
If the master plan is done correctly, the city can achieve all of these things and more.
