Super Bowl insults deaf viewers
The TV broadcast opening of the Super Bowl was an insult to all deaf people.
After introducing Marlee Matlin as the signer for America and The Star Spangled Banner, CBS showed her on screen for a combined total of less than six seconds.
Why wasn’t there a box in the corner of the screen throughout both songs? CBS not doing so made her signing totally useless as no one could see it.
Maybe the next time a knowledgeable producer won’t slight the deaf community all over the world.
