Disqualify Rubio

Marco Rubio seemingly has ruled himself unqualified for the presidency. He has the hubris to assert that God takes precedence over the Constitution and that the United States is governed by “God’s rules.” “When those two come in conflict,” he adds, “God’s rules always win.”

He fails to recognize that citizens are protected against the imposition of any religion, some of whom have a God different from Rubio’s. Some citizens adhere to no religion.

So imagine, a president promising that he will abide by the Constitution only when it is not in conflict with God’s rule. If that doesn’t scare you, it should.
