Caretakers suffer
Thank you for publishing info on Alzheimer's Disease. However, you didn’t address the pitiful amount of help caregivers get to take care of a patient at home.
Medicare/Medicaid do not help much for all the medicines or the $60-per-day the caregiver pays when picking up medicines and shopping for food. They don’t consider the cost of adult diapers each day or asthma medications that add up over a month. In this case, I’m talking about two people who have worked all their lives and are 65 and 66 years old. To get real help, they must go virtually bankrupt. This is a national problem, not just in Florida.
