Kiddy testing

After I finished reading the Jan. 22 article, My young son should dream, not have testing nightmares, I couldn’t help but to send this email and applaud Ana Menendez for the way she filled out a survey at the beginning of the year. That is exactly how I would have filled out the form.

My oldest is 23 and is now a kindergarten teacher and I can tell you that none of her kids are stressing over any test. It all lies in the teacher’s hands. Obviously, the child feels if they don’t do well they will not get the “gold star.” The only things a 4-year-old should worry about is who are they going to play with at recess and what books to choose at the library.
