Flint’s water

Recent articles in the Miami Herald revealed that to save money, Michigan Gov. Rick Snyder, a Republican, and his administration chose to use water from an alternative river source, rather then pipe it in from Detroit.

This was done despite warnings that the water from that river was corroding the paint on its cars. If the water was corroding paint, how could it be safe for human consumption?

All the Republican presidential candidates are united in their views that government rules and regulations are a problem and cannot provide any meaningful solutions. Some are even calling for abolishing the Environmental Protection Agency. Voters need to decide if the function of government is to provide for the health, education and welfare of the populace or to save money.

If a Republican wins the presidency can we expect more Flint, Michigans?
