Obama critics

President Obama has been the object of unrelenting criticism. As a reader of American history, I realize that politics is a raucous enterprise, and it’s amazing that he has survived the torrents of negativity and “kept his head while [those] about him were losing theirs and blaming him,” to quote Kipling.

From the beginning of Obama’s first term, the senior senator from Kentucky adopted the mantra of making him a one-term president.

The president came into office extending his hand of cooperation, only to be rebuffed at every turn.

This was followed up with, “We’re taking our country back.”

I’ve always wondered from whom was the country to be rescued and who the thieves were.

In the last Republican debate, the president was likened to a “petulant child.”

It’s scary to think of the future of this country if anyone from the current lot is elected president.
