Take in families only

The debate about taking in refugees continues to escalate and divide many U.S. citizens and political discussions.

The recent outbreak of New Year’s Eve assaults in Europe has many of those countries in an uproar over crimes allegedly committed by mostly male refugees and immigrants. Some policies dictate that family units be considered over single men because of the belief that unattached males are more likely to be potential terrorists or criminals.

Here’s a fair solution that would uphold any merits of that policy while removing any concerns of bias: Our country should continue its humane and moral policy of considering refugee status based on reasonable guidelines and quotas. However, women, children and family units should be given almost exclusive priority.
