More solar power
Re the Jan. 16 article FPL seeks 23.7% rate hike, public counsel will fight it: Florida is one of only four states where residents must buy their energy from the state’s power monopoly.
After years of working with the state Legislature and failing, a broad-based grassroots coalition, Floridians for Solar Choice, was formed to get an amendment on the ballot to increase solar options in the state.
State power companies, led by FPL, spent millions last year to fight this citizens initiative.
Now I read that FPL is filing for a rate increase.
I can’t believe the hubris of this corporation.
I guess FPL needs more money from its customers to fight the residents of Florida to keep its monopoly on energy production.
