Scared cops

For the second year, bikes, trikes and ATV’s ran roughshod throughout Miami-Dade and Broward counties on MLK Day — and police did nothing. They were afraid to engage them. One trooper said they don’t chase anyone unless they commit a felony.

If I ran a red light and decided to outrun the police, several cop cars would chase me. They would roadblock me, lay down road spikes, ram me, all to stop me for only a minor traffic infraction.

What was shown on TV were major violations, as well as criminal intent. Pulling a “wheelie” is a $1,000 fine, and there were hundreds of wheelies pulled.

So when we encounter the lawlessness of these bikers, the cops just sit there and look like wimps, too afraid to engage the offenders.

They would rather hide in the bushes and pull you over for doing 47 miles per hour in a 35-mph zone.
