Guardianship abuse

Re the Jan. 1 article Newlywed, 95, dies after wife taken: This is a shameful abuse of a guardian’s power. Kidnapping an old woman under false pretenses has destroyed two lives.

Wards of the state are at the mercy of unlicensed guardians who literally own them and can do anything they want with them.

It broke Eddie Harrison’s heart and killed him — not to mention what his widow, Edith Hill, is going through.

Love is always among the victims when one person owns another and can do with them what they want because an all-too-willing judge will always approve — even if it kills that person.

Guardianship abuse routinely kills innocent people. It cannot be tolerated in our society.
