Illegal immigrant

Re the Jan. 11 story Immigrant pleads guilty to using fake Puerto Rican birth certificate: Why is Edinson Canaveral Sanchez described as “an undocumented Colombian immigrant?” Sanchez had documents, fake documents, but documents nonetheless. The correct term that should have been used is illegal Colombian immigrant. He violated U.S. law, therefore he is illegal. In fact, Sanchez also pleaded guilty to violating U.S. law, confirming his illegality.

Call things for what they are, and stop using Orwellian truth speak.
