No foster care

The Jan. 12 story Foster group under fire over video of brawl is proof that Florida has lost its soul in the way it treats children under its care.

Are we immune because these children are in foster care? How can an agency be called out by a judge for several years for not providing “proper services to children under state care” and nothing is done?

Have we become so selfish and uncaring that we are blinded to the hurt? Where are our elected representatives in this continuing scandal or are they too interested in constituents with money and power to bother with the disenfranchised?

How can we stand by and continue allowing budget cuts to the most helpless of our residents and not voice our opposition? What needs to happen before Florida protects all its children?
