Doomed cargo ship

I feel sorry for the 34 mariners who went down to the deep with the sunken cargo ship El Faro. Now Congress wants to conduct an investigation.

There’s no need. I can tell you what happened. Instead of heeding the weather bureau’s warnings of rough seas and high winds, the skipper stuck to his old route and headed into the eye of Hurricane Joaquin.

The overloaded boxcars began shifting as the winds increased, and soon the cargo ship was listing. Engines and crewmen could not function, and the ship ended up 15,000 feet below on the ocean floor. Nature is unaware of anybody’s schedule.
