Letters to the Editor

Save Marine Stadium

Our family came here in 1989, and the Miami Marine Stadium closed in 1992 after Hurricane Andrew. In those three years somehow we never went to that stadium. In retrospect, that was clearly our loss.

In the second day of this year I finally visited the now-shuttered stadium. Our community simply must figure out a way to restore and reopen this stadium.

This absolute treasure captures what perhaps is the greatest iconic view of our community.

The death of Florence Knoll Bassett, even at 101 years old, is a sad event for me as I remember the many years of our design relationship, working on numerous projects.

My company represented a diverse range of European producers of decorative tile and architectural hard surface materials, like marble, granite and travertine.
