While the Herald, particularly reporter Chuck Rabin, has done an admirable job reporting the extent and carnage of drive-by shootings recently, there appears to be a paralysis on the part of elected and police officials in dealing with this carnage.
Such random shootings, many with automatic weapons, send a chilling message as to who controls our streets and, right now, the thugs do.
When are those in charge going to demand that this violence be stopped and when are they going to ensure that law enforcement has the necessary resources to combat these crimes? Their silence and lack of leadership will only lead to more violence, something that cannot be tolerated.
