Praise for ‘H*ll on Wheels’ initiative

I want to take this opportunity to commend the Miami Herald Editorial Board members of your publication for the series of articles done earlier in the year titled H*ll on Wheels, which brought the traffic gridlock and roadway issues to the forefront topic of conversation of elected public and roadway officials which affects every resident and business enterprise of this and other local neighboring communities as well.

Proper funding resources is undoubtedly essential to properly manage the current and future growth needs of this community however, let me say that even with unlimited funding being available the traffic mobility issues this and other Cities throughout the Nation face can never be solved by simply building additional roadways.

Better utilization of the current roadway infrastructure is essential by simply correcting many of the traffic funnels and pinch points which are currently existing on numerous public roadways throughout Miami-Dade in order to alleviate the traffic congestion and improve traffic mobility rather than build a replacement roadway. Also reducing the toll rates on all of the expressways will result in the major arterial roadways becoming less congested since many of the commuting motorists cannot simply afford the additional toll rate increases.

Lets hope that, with the leadership currently being demonstrated by some of the elected Miami-Dade officials as well as the MPO board members, and with recent new administrators appointed to the Transit Department as well as the MPO that, is suppose to prioritize all of the roadway projects for Miami Dade that, as well as all of the potential projects being discussed and considered will finally come fruition so that, all of the residents will soon begin to see tangible improvements and/or results on all of the public roadways on their daily commutes which would be in every ones vested interests.
