Christmas wish list
My wish is that we would become a God-serving people, instead of a God-using people. He’s not there to be used, although He doesn’t mind if we want to help Him. His ongoing project: Love one another.
That we start remembering that every human being alive is thereby afforded an inherent dignity, and is worthy of respect, no matter who they are or where they might be.
That we become hospitable to people who come here from foreign countries, instead of fearing them or worrying how expensive it might be to help them.
That we start keeping friends and enemies in the right categories. Muslims are friends, terrorists are enemies.
That parents start remembering that they stand in the place of God and are to teach, nurture and protect, modeling the kind of behavior they hope to see in children.
That we all remember that nobody in the world who makes up their mind to do what is right has anything to fear.
Merry Christmas!
