Blaming Obama

In Tuesday’s Letter Obama’s failure writer Joe Feinberg blames President Obama for the increase in poverty and contends that, while the president likes to play the race card, he really hasn’t done much for the poor and downtrodden.

Now, I’m sure that the letter writer understands how Congress works and that the president can only suggest programs; it is really up to the legislature to fund them.

Congress was hell-bent on making Obama a one-term president, they obstructed any jobs program, voted 50 times to repeal Obamacare, basically did everything to thwart any positive actions he may be in favor of.

But in spite of that, and not withstanding, he took over during the harshest economic times since the Great Depression, the stock market tripled, unemployment is at 5 percent, over 200,000 jobs are created each month and 17 million more people have health insurance.

Hopefully, whomever the next president is, just maybe she will have the respect of the office and cooperation of the other branches of government. Our survival will depend on it.
