Obama’s failure

Alan Becker’s Dec. 18 letter, Unthinkable USA, is a vitriolic attack upon all conservative Republicans.

To call Republicans “racist” belies the fact of frequent racist rants by President Obama, often without even waiting for the facts, not to mention his use of the race card when excoriating his critics. That Republicans have questioned Obama’s incredulous pronouncement that global warming is a bigger threat to us than ISIS terrorism is not a sign of anti environment, just good common sense.

Calling Republicans anti-poor and anti-social programs is preposterous nonsense when Obama has done so little to improve the lot of the poor and disadvantaged, with blacks now worse off than ever. The government welfare program has been great for poor people, but everyone, not just Republicans, should understand that, long term, it damages the incentive for recipients to find jobs.

Becker’s final thought that if a Republican becomes president, America would be transformed in a way too horrendous to contemplate has already happened under the failed Obama years.
