Reason to vote

If those with No Party Affiliation and the disillusioned voters need a reason to vote they should visualize a country where the Senate, House and White House are dominated by the current brand of Republicans. Add a right-leaning Supreme Court that believes that a corporation is a person and we have an opportunity to relive the good old robber baron days.

I really must admire the Republican Party. They have very successfully demonized unions and the government to the point where even those who depend on them are convinced they are evil and destroying the country. They have convinced the country that an unrestricted free market without those pesky, oppressive regulations is our only recourse.

It might be worthwhile to remind everyone that unions are what made the middle class. It is government regulations that have prevented corporations from running roughshod over the environment and workers’ rights.

I certainly don’t say that the government is perfect, but I can say that corporations do not operate with your best interest in mind and definitely must be regulated.

If you want a country with no taxes and no government and ruled by the elite two percent I can recommend several, but I guarantee that you won’t like them.
