Stop the freebies
I worked 34 years for a government agency pension. I still pay income tax, property tax and all the rest of the taxes.
I also worked 14 years under Social Security and looked forward to a small Social Security pension.
Ronald Reagan passed a law called “windfall elimination” in 1983 because he didn’t want people double dipping.
In the meantime he was collecting a number of pensions.
Today, 40 percent of my Social Security is taken away from my small Social Security pension, and I resent all those people getting benefits for which they never contributed a nickel.
The only benefit I collected in 75 years was three weeks of unemployment.
If people are worried about Social Security going broke, they should ask Congress to stop the giveaways.
