Honor the recent passing of Robert McCabe by noting that together with the efforts of his first wife, Bonnie, he founded the pioneering North American Association for Environmental Education, way back in 1971, when we were just beginning to become aware of the destructive human impact on our natural surroundings.
They would be aghast to see the 100 or so cars that are currently parked at the Flagstone Project on Watson Island, dripping oil and fluids into the soil adjacent to the waters of Government Cut.
In her letter on Dec. 25, Flagstone failings, Nancy Liebman states that this is supposed to be environmentally sensitive land. We Miami voters certainly did not approve a polluting car lot.
