Forceful stories

I congratulate the Miami Herald for hearkening back to the days of editors Jim Savage and reporter Gene Miller and publishing the compelling series Beyond Punishment by Julie K. Brown.

Any sensitive citizen can only hope that the Herald will inspire — or force — our politicians to deal with this atrocity of a prison system.
