City flouted rules
The Dec. 10 editorial, City failed Boat Show, Virginia Key, is a superb gift for readers. It is fair that it congratulates the National Marine Manufacturers Association for the 75 years during which the marine industry has shown its importance.
But it clearly shows that the newspaper understands the need to protect and respect treasured natural resources that make Miami-Dade unique.
It was a pleasure to see that the Miami Herald did not hesitate to criticize Miami’s disregard for land regulations and environmental restrictions at the sensitive site along the Rickenbacker Causeway.
Relentless legal action will continue to try to prove the illegal nature of its methods. Perhaps the NMMA will realize that 2016 will be the last year when the city will be able ignore essential rules that have been maliciously trampled.
