Mass killings count
Bravo for Fred Grimm and his Dec. 8 piece, The semantics of mass shootings, highlighting the fact that in the country of plenty, there is a disparity in how mass shootings and killings are classified, often downgraded and discounted depending on the average earnings of the neighborhood in which they occur.
Shootingtracker.com counts 355 mass killings for 2015, and Mother Jones magazine counts 73 since 1982. Of course, the NRA would classify all such killings as “accidental.”
