Visit Zoo Miami

Re the Dec. 8 article, Major flooding shuts down Zoo Miami: A zoo is important for education. It where I began to have an appreciation for animals and wildlife. As a Boy Scout, I encounter wildlife while camping and hiking, and being knowledgable about what I’m seeing makes me appreciate wildlife more.

I had never heard of Zoo Miami closing because of flooding, and with a loss of profit it might not be able to fund programs that I enjoy.

This December has been a rainy one. The best way to counteract the results is for lots of people to go to the zoo to help it prosper and let newer generations enjoy the same experience and education as I have.
