We’re West Kendall
I have to laugh at our supposed democratic society. A Miami-Dade commissioner decides, on his own, that West Kendall needs a new name, so he changes the library and now the Hammocks District police station to a name he wants — West District.
What happened to asking all the residents who live there for their opinions? Put it on the ballot for a vote.
Just because he figured out how to get a majority vote to get elected doesn’t mean he can do whatever pleases him and furthers his agenda. We have a say. Leave the name alone. We have lived here longer than he has been a commissioner. If he wants to change something, change the traffic problems in West Kendall.
