Adopt a shelter animal
I’ve had dogs all my life.
My current dog, Faith, hugs us when we come home with one of her front legs. I thought that people were nuts when they’d say that their dogs smiled; I now know better. What a great dog — she loves to play and swim.
Another dog, Sable, was one in a million. I’d leave him in front of Florida State University library for three hours at a time; he’d still be waiting for me when I came out. He loved all the attention he got from other people.
Why am I writing this?
All of my dogs were rescued from animal shelters.
Instead of getting a purebred dog, consider adopting a shelter dog or cat that otherwise will be most likely put to sleep.
